• Avada: feature-rich, performance-poor.
• OceanWP: once a favorite, now outpaced by Kadence and Blocksy.
• Newspaper, Jannah, other ThemeForest bestsellers: bloated, jQuery-heavy, not recommended.

In 2026 the question is not “theme or builder” but “how much JS does your theme ship by default?”
