Coalition Technologies Alternative — An Honest 2026 Comparison From the Founder Who Competes With Them
Coalition Technologies lists 851 case studies and more than 250 Google reviews on their site as of June 2026. Both numbers are real, and I am not going to pretend otherwise. Here is the number you will not find anywhere on that site: a price. Even the page titled SEO pricing routes you to a quote form. My Shopify SEO tiers are published, they start at $1,500 a month flat, and this post lays out honestly when I am the better hire than Coalition and when I am not.
Why store owners search for a Coalition Technologies alternative
I write these comparison posts from a strange seat. I compete with Coalition Technologies for a slice of the same searchers, so you should hold my bias in mind the whole way through. To keep myself honest, every claim I make about them in this post comes from their own site as of June 2026 or from a test you can re-run yourself in under a minute. Every estimate is marked est. Nothing is invented.
When someone types “coalition technologies alternative” into a search box, the story behind it is usually one of these four:
- The quote arrived and it was a shock. Quote-only pricing means the number finds your budget, and big-agency numbers carry big-agency overhead.
- The store is too small for the machine. A sub-$1M Shopify store inside a large agency often lands on the most junior staffing tier, because that is how the economics of a big team work.
- You wanted the senior strategist, you got an account manager. The person who impressed you in the pitch is rarely the person inside your account each week.
- You refuse to book a sales call just to learn a price. Some buyers simply will not enter a pipeline to see a number. I think they are right.
None of those four means Coalition is bad at SEO. They mean the model is wrong for you. This post is written for that reader.
Credit first: what Coalition Technologies genuinely does well
An alternative page that trashes the incumbent is worthless, so here is what their own site actually supports.
Scale of evidence. 851 case studies is an enormous published body of work. I have 9 years of client work behind me and I could not produce 851 written-up case studies, because one person does not accumulate that volume. A library that size signals real process discipline and a long operating history.
Review volume. More than 250 Google reviews, per their site, is genuine third-party volume. Review counts can be cultivated, but they cannot be conjured at that scale without a large number of real clients passing through the doors.
Multi-channel bench. They staff SEO, PPC, web design, and development under one roof. If your program genuinely needs four disciplines moving in parallel under a single vendor, that is a structural capability I do not have and will not pretend to have.
So the honest framing is not “Coalition bad, me good.” Coalition is built for a certain buyer, and a large share of the Shopify store owners searching for them are not that buyer. The rest of this post is about working out which one you are.

Go look at their SEO pricing page. I did, in June 2026. It discusses the factors that influence cost, explains why custom scoping matters, and ends at a quote request. There is no dollar figure on the pricing page. That is normal for an agency their size, but sit with how strange it is as a buying experience: the page named after the one question you came to ask is the page that declines to answer it.
Quote-only pricing has a predictable mechanic. The agency learns your revenue, your traffic, and your urgency before you learn their number, and the quote tends to land near the top of whatever the discovery call suggested you could absorb. I am not accusing anyone of bad faith. I am describing how per-deal pricing works everywhere it exists, from agencies to enterprise software.
My answer to that mechanic is published flat tiers. Shopify SEO starts at $1,500 a month, the table runs up to $7,500 for the largest scopes, and all of it sits on my pricing page where you can read it without entering a funnel. No setup fee. No contract, month to month from the first invoice. I broke down what each tier actually buys, deliverable by deliverable, in my real-tiers Shopify SEO pricing post if you want the work behind the numbers.
Publishing prices costs me deals sometimes. A bigger store occasionally reads $1,500 and assumes small. I accept that trade, because the buyers I want are the ones who respect being told the number up front.
If you are mid-search and just want a straight answer on whether your store needs me, Coalition, or neither, book a free 30-minute call and I will tell you on the call. I refer people to bigger agencies regularly, and I would rather refer you well than sign you badly.
The 60-second test: their site blocks the AI engines they sell visibility in
This is the part of the comparison you do not have to take my word for.
Coalition markets AI-era SEO services. Their site talks about visibility in AI search. Yet when I requested their homepage in June 2026 using the user agents of common AI crawlers and fetchers, the responses came back 403 Forbidden. The same requests against my site return 200 and the full page.
Run it yourself:
curl -A "GPTBot" -o /dev/null -s -w "%{http_code}n" https://coalitiontechnologies.com/
curl -A "GPTBot" -o /dev/null -s -w "%{http_code}n" https://sproutsagesolutions.com/When I ran those two commands in June 2026, the first returned 403 and the second returned 200. Their result can change whenever they update a firewall rule, which is exactly why I am handing you the command instead of a screenshot. Sixty seconds, no signup, no trust in me required.
Why this matters: AI engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity recommend businesses they can read. A 403 at the door means the engine cannot fetch your pages, cannot verify your claims, and falls back on whatever stale crawl or third-party mention it already has. Whether the block is a deliberate policy or a bot-protection default nobody reviewed, the effect is identical. The site selling AI visibility is invisible to the AI doing the visiting.
My site is fully crawlable to AI agents, carries a curated llms.txt file, and runs full schema markup. That is not because I am cleverer than a large agency. It is because I am small enough that the person selling the service is the same person configuring the server, so the gap between the pitch and the practice stays closed.
What the alternative actually looks like
Here is what you get if you hire me instead, stated plainly so you can hold it against whatever quote Coalition eventually gives you.
The person you talk to does the work. I have been doing this for 9 years. There is no account layer and no junior delivery pod. My Upwork profile shows 37 five-star reviews across 222 completed jobs with Top Rated Plus status. Those numbers are platform-verified, not testimonials I curated myself.
Published flat pricing. $1,500 a month entry tier for Shopify SEO, published tiers up to $7,500, nothing hidden behind a discovery call. No setup fee and no contract, ever.
Shopify focus. My method, the deliverables, and how I prioritize catalog work are documented on the Shopify SEO hub. I am not a thirty-service generalist. Shopify SEO and CRO, alongside medspa marketing, is the entire shop.
AI-search readiness as table stakes. Crawlable to AI agents, curated llms.txt, full schema on every page. The free tools on my site are open with no signup, so you can inspect my work before paying for any of it.
The ceiling, stated up front. I am one person. I do not run paid media, I do not staff parallel development sprints, and there is a real limit to the catalog size one operator should own. If your scope exceeds me, I will say so before you sign anything, because a mis-scoped client cancels in four months and that outcome helps neither of us.
Coalition Technologies vs Sprout Sage, side by side
| Factor | Coalition Technologies | Sprout Sage (me) |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing visibility | Quote-only, even on the SEO pricing page (per their site, June 2026) | Published flat tiers, $1,500 to $7,500/mo |
| Contract | Not published, ask them directly | None. Month to month, no setup fee |
| Who does the work | Assigned team behind an account manager | Me, directly, 9 years in |
| Published proof | 851 case studies, 250+ Google reviews (per their site) | 37 five-star Upwork reviews, 222 jobs, Top Rated Plus |
| AI crawlability of own site | 403 to AI crawler user agents when I tested, June 2026 | 200, fully crawlable, llms.txt + full schema |
| Channels | SEO, PPC, design, development | Shopify SEO + CRO, medspa marketing |
| Best fit | $1M+ multi-channel programs | Sub-$1M Shopify stores that want the senior person |
Two notes on that table, in fairness. The contract cell says “not published” because I refuse to fill it with an invented number, and the crawlability row reports a test result you should re-run rather than treat as permanent. If their 403 becomes a 200 next month, good. That is the whole point of giving you the command.
If the table already settled it for you, the next step costs nothing. Book the free 30-minute call or message me on WhatsApp at +91 97297 12388. I will look at your store live and confirm your exact tier on the call, which is easy to do honestly when the tiers are already public.
Who should still hire Coalition Technologies
I mean this section literally, not as a rhetorical setup before a pitch.
Hire Coalition, or a firm of their scale, if you are doing well over $1M a year and need several disciplines staffed at the same time. If your quarter requires SEO work, a paid media program, and a development team rebuilding your theme all at once, one founder cannot deliver that, and the firms that can will price accordingly. At that scope, big-agency overhead buys real coordination, a bench that absorbs vacations and departures, and the reassurance of 851 documented engagements behind yours.
Hire them too if your procurement process effectively requires a vendor with a legal department, formal SLAs, and enterprise references. Some companies cannot buy from a one-person shop no matter how good the work is, and pretending otherwise wastes everyone’s time.
If you are weighing Coalition against another sizeable agency rather than against a founder-led shop, I wrote a separate three-way breakdown in my Searchbloom vs Coalition vs Sprout Sage comparison that covers that decision in more depth.
Who should hire me instead
You are the buyer I built this shop for if most of these are true:
- Your Shopify store does under roughly $1M a year.
- You want to see the price before any sales conversation. Mine is public.
- You want the operator with 9 years of reps doing the work, not supervising it from three layers up.
- You will not sign another 12-month contract, or you never want to sign one at all.
- You care about AI search, and you want a vendor whose own site passes the crawlability test it sells.
- You want movement in days, not after a six-week onboarding program.
For that buyer, the math is simple. At $1,500 a month you get a senior person spending real hours on a focused scope, instead of a fraction of a big retainer surviving the trip through account management, project management, and a junior executor. I ranked the wider field, Coalition included, in my best Shopify SEO agencies roundup, with the methodology disclosed right at the top so you can discount my self-interest properly.
Six questions to ask Coalition on their sales call
If you do book their call, and for many stores you should, walk in with these and write the answers down. They are the same questions I answer publicly on my own pages, so you can compare like for like.
- What is the flat monthly number for my store, and what does the first invoice total including any setup or onboarding fee?
- Who, by name and seniority, will be inside my account every week, and how much of the senior strategist’s time does my retainer actually buy?
- What is the minimum contract length, and what does cancellation cost me mid-term?
- How many content pieces ship per month at my tier, and who writes them?
- How will you make my store readable to AI engines, and can you show me your own site passing that same test?
- What, deliverable by deliverable, happens in month one?
Any agency that answers all six in plain language on the first call is worth shortlisting, whatever its size. An agency that needs a second call to answer the first question is telling you how the reporting will go later.
How to switch if you are mid-contract somewhere else
If you are currently inside an agency engagement and thinking about leaving, do it in this order. The sequence protects your rankings and your assets.
- Read your cancellation clause first. Most agency contracts allow exit with 30 to 60 days notice, sometimes with a fee for the remaining term. Know your number before you say anything.
- Reclaim your assets before you cancel. Google Search Console, GA4, your Shopify admin collaborators list, content files, and any tool accounts should live in properties you own. If the agency controls any of them, request the transfer while the relationship is still polite.
- Export your reporting history. Twelve months of ranking and traffic reports gives the next person a baseline, and it disappears with your portal access on the day you leave.
- Audit before tearing anything down. Some of what the outgoing agency built is earning. A competent incoming SEO, me or anyone else, audits first and keeps what works. Rankings do not drop because you switched vendors. They drop when someone deletes working assets out of spite or carelessness.
- Time the handover inside the notice period. Start the new engagement during your final 30 days so there is no dead month where nobody is watching the store.
I have picked up stores mid-exit many times in 9 years. The transition is boring when you follow that order, and boring is exactly what you want it to be.
The bottom line
Coalition Technologies is a legitimate large agency with published proof at a scale I will not match as one person. They are also quote-only on price, even on the page titled SEO pricing, and as of my June 2026 test their own site returns 403 to the AI crawlers their services pitch revolves around. Those are checkable statements, not insults.
The alternative I offer is narrower and plainer. Published flat tiers from $1,500 a month up to $7,500. No contract and no setup fee. The 9-year operator doing the work directly, with 37 five-star Upwork reviews across 222 jobs as the public track record. A site that AI engines can actually read, structured the same way I structure client sites.
If your store does under roughly $1M a year and you want the senior person rather than the machine, that trade favors you heavily. If you need the machine, hire the machine, and I will tell you so to your face. Either way, book the free 30-minute call, bring your store URL, and I will review it live and give you the straight answer. Your price is already on the pricing page before we ever speak.

FAQ
Is Coalition Technologies a legitimate SEO agency?
Yes. Coalition Technologies is a real, established Los Angeles agency with 851 case studies and more than 250 Google reviews published on their site as of June 2026. They have run SEO, paid media, design, and development for large brands for years. Searching for an alternative does not mean they are bad. It usually means their model, their price, or their size is the wrong fit for your store.
How much does Coalition Technologies cost?
They do not publish pricing anywhere on their site, including on their SEO pricing page, so I will not invent a number. Every path leads to a quote request. Large full-service agencies of their size commonly quote retainers in the est. $3,000 to $10,000-plus per month range, but the only way to know your number is to go through their sales process and ask directly.
Why doesn’t Coalition Technologies publish pricing?
Per their site, engagements are custom-scoped, which is the standard reason large agencies give. The practical effect is per-deal pricing: the quote arrives after they learn your revenue and budget. That is normal at their scale and not a scam, but it means you cannot comparison-shop without sitting through a sales call first. My tiers are public for exactly that reason.
What is the best alternative to Coalition Technologies?
It depends on what made you search. If the problem is opaque pricing and account-manager layers, a founder-led shop with published flat tiers, like mine at $1,500 to $7,500 a month, is the direct alternative. If you still need a big multi-channel team, agencies like Searchbloom or Inflow are closer substitutes. Match the alternative to the specific problem you are leaving behind.
Who should still choose Coalition Technologies over an alternative?
Stores doing well over $1M a year that need SEO, paid media, design, and development staffed in parallel by one vendor. At that scale their bench depth is a genuine advantage, and the overhead baked into a big-agency quote buys real coordination. If you need ten workstreams running at once, one founder cannot responsibly deliver that, and I say so on calls.
Does Coalition Technologies work with small Shopify stores?
They do not publish a minimum engagement size, so ask them directly. In my experience, large full-service agencies are structurally built for bigger retainers, and a sub-$500K store on a big-agency contract often lands on the most junior staffing tier. That is a structural mismatch, not malice. Small stores usually get more from a senior operator at a smaller published flat fee.
Can I switch SEO agencies in the middle of a contract?
Usually yes, with notice. Read your agreement for the cancellation clause and notice period, since many agency contracts allow exit with 30 to 60 days notice even mid-term. Before you cancel, move every asset into accounts you own: Google Search Console, GA4, content files, and tool logins. Then start the new engagement with a clean audit of what was already built.
Will my rankings drop when I switch SEO agencies?
Not from the switch itself. Rankings respond to the state of your site, not to which agency holds the invoice. Drops happen when the outgoing agency removes content or assets it controlled, which is why you confirm ownership of everything before cancelling. A competent incoming SEO audits the existing work first and keeps whatever is earning before changing anything.
What does Sprout Sage charge for Shopify SEO?
My Shopify SEO starts at $1,500 per month flat, with published tiers up to $7,500 depending on catalog size and scope. No setup fee, no contract, month to month from the first invoice. The full tier table is on my pricing page, so you see the number before you ever talk to me. The person quoting the work is the person doing it.
How do I check whether an SEO agency’s own site blocks AI crawlers?
Run a curl request against their homepage with an AI crawler user agent such as GPTBot and read the HTTP status code. A 200 means AI engines can fetch the site. A 403 means they are blocked. When I tested coalitiontechnologies.com in June 2026, requests with AI fetcher user agents returned 403. Test it yourself, the exact command is in this post.
Do I need a 250-person agency for Shopify SEO?
Only if your scope genuinely needs parallel teams: very large catalogs, multiple regions, plus paid media and development under the same roof. A focused Shopify store under roughly $1M a year typically needs one senior operator executing the right priorities, not a department. Paying big-agency overhead for capacity you never use is the most common pricing mistake I see store owners make.
How fast can I start after leaving my current agency?
With me, days. There is no onboarding department, so the first call sets scope, and the first deliverables, usually the technical audit and quick wins, ship within the first week (est.). Bring read access to Search Console and GA4 plus your Shopify admin, and month one starts immediately. No setup fee and no contract means there is nothing else to wait on.
